This interview was arranged by Sweet Crude director Sandy Cioffi at the request of ABC news. It features an unmasked MEND spokesman talking candidly with ABC’s Brian Ross by telephone about conditions in the Niger Delta and the group’s objectives. When the ABC Nightline segment aired, this footage was left on the cutting room floor. Instead, MEND was portrayed as a terrorist organization with a focus on sensationalistic footage rather than the issues.
